Department Office of Human Resources | Benefits Responsibilities This position is responsible for the administration of authorized retirement plans offered at the University including employee enrollments, changes and terminations of approved products. Responsible for the administration of the Florida Retirement System Pension and Investment Plans, the FICA Alternative Program, the Optional Retirement Program and tax-sheltered annuities. Includes but is not limited to enrollments, terminations, counseling, payroll queries, any employee/vendor inquiries and providing assistance to the Insurance team as needed. The position holds a special emphasis on the 401(a) FICA Alternative Program. Responsible for coordinating and analyzing all queries, reports and files in preparation for each pay cycle. Assists with the coordination of leave payouts with the appropriate HR teams. Works with employees that are retiring and guides them on how to continue their benefits, such as retiree insurance. Responsible for working with the families of deceased employees. Includes but not limited to final pay and continuing benefits. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required, such as but not limited to, assisting with the Benefits and Wellness Fair, Retirement Planning Seminar, New Faculty Orientation, the HR- Retirement Inbox, and maintaining compliance with F.S. 119 as required by the FRS. Provides assistance to the Insurance team as coverage and situation require. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in human resources or a related field or a high school diploma/equivalency and six years of the same experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
